This week your family will GET INTO 1 Timothy 4:12. You’ll discover why it’s important to be an example to others in what you SAY, what you LOVE, what you put your FAITH in, and through your PURITY.

After the video remind your family that this week you’ll TALK IT UP and look for ways to ACT IT OUT together. Think of people who are an example to your family of how to live for God. What do they SAY? How do they show LOVE? How do they put their FAITH in action? In what ways can you see their PURITY?

As you TALK IT UP this week, keep track of ideas your family has for ways to ACT OUT the truths of 1 Timothy 4:12. And TALK IT UPWARDS too! Pray together, asking God to help your family let His Word sink deeply into your hearts as you ACT IT OUT together.

What would other people say you LOVE the most? What evidence might they point out to back up their answers?

What does it mean to put your FAITH in something? What are 3 things or people you put your FAITH in these days?

DAY 4

What does it mean to be PURE? Why does Paul say being PURE is important?

DAY 5

What’s one way you can be an example to others this week? Decide on a way RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW!

Focus on each keyword from 1 Timothy 4:12 so it takes root in the hearts of your family. Theses conversation starters will help you dig into the meaning and importance of each keyword and encourage you to put them into action.

Keep track of your family’s suggestions about how you can be an example to others through what you SAY, what you LOVE, what you put your FAITH in, and how you keep yourselves PURE. Then as a family, pick 1—or more!—of the ideas you’ve come up with and ACT IT OUT. Remember to ask God for help as you and your family live as examples for Him!

  • Tell about a time you said something that you knew—the moment you said it—was a bad idea to SAY. What example did SAYING it set for others?
  • What’s something you LOVE that you think God LOVES too? (Besides you and your family, that is.)
  • What’s a way you can set a FAITH example for someone who is younger or older than you?
  • Given what you discovered in 1 Timothy 4:12, how might you change how you treat God, our family, and others?
